It is my privilege to work with a variety of clients with unique needs and goals. I specialize in helping retirees maximize current and future income from their investment portfolios. I have 36 years of professional investment experience and I am a member of Verity’s Investment Committee.
Qualifications and Experience
An experienced portfolio manager. I started my investment career in New York City with Merrill Lynch in 1980. Since 1986, I have held portfolio management positions at First Union National Bank and at several private investment firms. I joined Verity in 2008.
A career student of the investment markets. I hold two professional designations: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT).
A clear communicator. I have professional teaching experience. I taught Investment Planning at Duke University’s Executive Certificate Program for Financial Planning. I’ve lectured at the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.
An industry leader. I was elected to the CFA Institute’s Board of Governors. The CFA Institute is the world’s largest association of investment professionals with 135,000 members globally. It is responsible for the Chartered Financial Analyst exam.
An expert in income replacement strategies. I have testified as an expert witness in trials where sustainable, long-term portfolio income was an issue.
Company founder. I founded Chatham Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisory firm. The merger of Chatham into Verity Asset Management was completed in 2014.
